Intact nature is the basis of our well-being and economic activity – it starts with things often taken for granted, such as fresh air and clean water as well as a relaxing walk in the green. Nevertheless, human activities increasingly degrade nature and endanger its capacity to recover. For that reason, scientists, nature conservationists and landscape managers are working together to develop an online-marketplace for certified nature conservation projects. The online-marketplace provides targeted investment opportunities in nature conservation projects and facilitates an easier engagement for private individuals and companies.

AgoraNatura is a research and implementation project based on the joint funding initiative “Research on the Implementation of the National Biodiversity Strategy” of the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) and the BMU (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety), as well as of the “Federal Programme of Biological Diversity” of the BMU (2015-2021).
